WORKING FOR GIRLS

EDUCATION

FG4E's FOUNDER AND ACTIVE BOARD

Focus Girls 4 Education is a small nonprofit organization based in Austin, TX, supporting and educating 12 students at present and helping some of the family members/caregivers who are involved in the their lives. Our board consists of 5 people and we have a few friends and family members who support our cause through social media and donations.

Most of the hands on work in the organization is accomplished by Rehema Apio, our founder, who is in charge of collecting donations and sending them to Uganda. She works with a volunteer in Uganda to make sure the girls have what they need to pursue their education. We really appreciate our Ugandan workers who give of themselves without  being paid, but feel it is better if they remain anonymous.

Ron Cockroft and Terri Vaughn HAVE RETIRED FROM THE BOARD BECAUSE OF THEIR MOVE OUT OF STATE. WE HAVE NEW BOARD MEMBERS WHOSE PICS AND INTRODUCTIONS SHOULD BE UP SOON.

(Terri Vaughn continues to work on social media and the website.)

Stormy Beckham has served on the board since it's inception. She has held several positions and is now President. FG4E is thriving under her leadership.

Rehema Apio (the energy and mastermind behind FG4E) has a masters degree in Health Education from UT Austin, and previously taught school in Uganda.

Ron Cockroft and Terri Vaughn are a pair-a-docs (psychology and English respectively) who are supposedly retired, but have quickly discovered that life remains busy when you care about people.

Stormi Beckham has a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology. After meeting Rehema 7 years ago, she was so impressed by her sacrifice and dedication to Ugandan girl's education that she felt drawn to join Rehema in fulfilling her dream.
